A Knight shall never raise his/her hand in anger, only in defense of self and of another.
While a Knight will not fight another’s battles for them, he/she may assist when asked, but understands that each of us has our own trials to overcome.
A Knight cannot turn away from one in need unless he/she asks to be left alone.
A Knight will likely come across situations where he/she can see someone needs help and is unable or unwilling to ask for it. Unless assistance is expressly refused, it must be given. There may be times when someone is intimidated into refusing help. In such a situation, the Knight is honorbound to assume help is really desired and either give it or continue to offer, at the Knight’s discretion.
A Knight shall speak only truth.
A Knight will never seek to deceive by falsehood, omission or misleading. This does not apply to the joy of life through joking.
A Knight must always control his/her anger, never letting it control him/her, even when dealing with the scum of society.
There are more constructive ways of dealing with anger. Anger in control will destroy you, but anger channeled can do great things.
A Knight must respect and follow (but not necessarily agree with) the laws of the land he/she is in unless they expressly violate the Code of Honor.
A Knight must learn to know when the stop helping-when it does more harm than good.
This can be heart wrenching, but each of us must fight and struggle to learn and grow. None can be spared that, and would you really want to?
A Knight shall not take by force, coercion or trickery, that which is not rightfully his/hers.
In some cases, that which has been taken can be reclaimed at the request of the rightful owner. This law includes things less tangible, things that cannot be given back, as well.
A Knight must be willing to sacrifice that which he/she does not need in order to help one who truly does need it.
A Knight should beware of giving more than can be spared. Before one can care for another, one must first care for oneself.
A Knight must love.
Always love, even that which he/she despises. Love is perhaps the greatest gift, aside from life itself, that has been given to us. Love can hurt, but when he lose the capacity to love, a piece of us dies, as a piece of us dies each time we hate.
A Knight must learn the difference between Lust and Love, a daunting task.
Lust without love can have it’s place occasionally, but to mistake one for another is a horrible mistake, always resulting in pain, if not our own, than the other person’s.
A Knight must not engage in activities that put innocent lives at undue risk.
There is risk in everything, but there is no need to add to it. When one acknowledges and accepts a risk, then the obligation to use caution is lifted, but only so far.
A Knight should be open and honest with his feelings.
Too many good people have lost, one way or another, the opportunity to tell someone how they feel and regretted it for the rest of their lives.
A Knight must never forget where he/she comes from.
A knight should care for family, home, country, world and Gods. No one is freed from this obligation.
A Knight must never seek to intimidate or gain dominion over others.
With great power comes great responsibility. Wield it wisely and with a kind heart.
A Knight will not tolerate and will not practice bigotry of any form.
In the eyes of the Gods, we are all beloved, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation or any other means by which we categorize our fellow human beings. The fight against bigotry is a righteous one and an honorable outlet for focused and controlled anger.
A Knight shall admit to his/her mistakes, as we all make them.
To deny a mistake we know to be our own is to lie.
A Knight does not complain of discomfort or minor pain unless it is something serious.
He/she should be strong and try not to complain. The word “ouch” should not be in a Knight’s vocabulary, as it rarely does any good anyway.
A Knight should accept his failures with quiet dignity and grace and always learn from them.
A Knight should know his/her limits.
Then challenge them. Thus do we grow stronger.
A Knight cannot accept compensation for his/her help.
This cheapens the great work of the Knight by putting a price tag on it. Believe it or not, it can also cause legal problems. The only thing a Knight can ask in return, when “something in return” is offered, is a report of an act of Selflessness and Honor.
A Knight must always be courageous.
Courage is not lack of fear, for only a fool has no fear. Courage is facing fear and overcoming it.
A Knight shall never strike an unarmed opponent or perform any such cowardly act.
